International Court of Justice

To the esteemed advocates and jury of the International Court of Justice,
The ICJ is a unique committee that serves as the ultimate form of justice for countries accused of committing grave violations against the fundamental laws that make up our society. It serves as a beacon of hope and light for ones forsaken but also the greatest forgiveness for those to be proven innocent. As advocates, each and every one of you leaves an indelible mark on the case of the country that you are prosecuting/defending, shaping their future to ensure they receive the verdict they deserve through a fair, unbiased and open-minded jury.
My name is Faysal Alwir, an 11th grader at Kings Academy, and I feel honored and privileged to be your president this year at the ICJ. This year, we will be presenting the compelling cases of Serbia and Montenegro vs Bosnia and Herzegovina and Australia vs Japan, two prominent disputes with a verdict that, whichever way it goes, changes our understanding of the world as we know it.
Though I play the part of your president this year, I once walked in your shoes as an advocate in this exact courtroom not so long ago, and I will be here with you all every step of the way, from the day you receive your allocation to the final closing speeches, I am always open for any question you have available. I guarantee you that no case is unprosecutable or indefensible and recommend you to think outside the box for your cases to sway the view of not only the jury, but the whole courtroom. I wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy experiencing debating in these courts as I have.
Best regards,
Faysal Alwir
President of the International Court of Justice
